"The producers of Carnevale! are very honored to have been given a grant from the Venice Neighborhood Council to support the event this year and we are excited to once again receive funding for the festival for this year and next from the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Without these contributions we could not produce the festival." Esquire Jauchem.

Just in case you have never been, Carnevale! Venice Beach, is a free costumed themed festival based on Italy’s famous “Venice Carnevale” This wonderfully flamboyant festival has been celebrated for the past 7 years, produced by local Venice Beach Residents Esquire Jauchem and Miriam More and Brady Walker.

2009 Carnevale! will be happening on Saturday, June 6th from noon till 10:00 pm at the west end of Windward at Venice Beach.

There is something for everyone at Carnevale! As always there is a free costume contest, arts and craft booths with original clothing, jewelry and accessories, DJs, Dancing, Live music and local acts such as The Bonedaddys; Harissa Belly Dance Troupe; Hillel - Mr. Balloon Man; Kathy Leonardo; Gabriel Rosati & Brazilatafro Project; Street Smart; Sugarbitch; UFONIK and Wadada Raggea Band. As well as special guest speakers such as Councilman Bill Rosendahl and of course the famous Fiery Grand Finale featuring Mutaytor, which combines not only a crowd pleasing pulsing musical show, but also a visual spectacle to include fire dancers, and pyrotechnic acts.

Don’t miss it….The costumed celebration by the sea returns. Be a part of one of LA’s most happening festivals of the year. Come in costume, or just wear something outrageous! 21st Annual County of Ventura St. Patrick's Day Parade

The County Ventura St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee has announced that the theme of the 21st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be “21 and Still Green”, in celebration of the 21st anniversary of the annual county celebration.   The Grand Marshal will be The Women of Jewelia.

Bands, floats, car clubs and horses from all over Ventura County will go green once more, and join us in marking the 21st year on Main Street in historic downtown Ventura to the delight of friends and neighbors from throughout the county.
